So, the latest chapter in the saga of President Trump’s golf prowess has arrived, and surprise, surprise, he’s bagged another club championship trophy. This time around, the scorecard allegedly read a tidy 70. Forty-three. That’s his forty-third, folks. If you’re keeping track, that’s more club championships than most of us have had hot dinners, and a score that definitely makes you pause and maybe, just maybe, adjust your reading glasses. The Senior and Super Senior divisions out in New Jersey apparently felt the full force of his putter, or at least, that’s what the official tally says.

Now, whenever a number like 70 pops up in golf, especially attached to someone who lives in the spotlight, the internet, that glorious engine of speculation, tends to ignite. Social media, bless its little digital heart, went into overdrive. Suddenly, everyone was a golf rules expert, questioning the validity of the score like they were personally watching over the 18th green. It’s enough to make you wonder if some folks were seeing phantom bogeys on their own imaginary scorecards.

But fear not, the President’s loyal legion of fans has, as usual, leaped to his defense. The very notion of cheating, they argue, is utterly preposterous. After all, who in their right mind would dare to fudge a scorecard during a formal tournament with actual officials and, you know, other humans present? It’s a solid point. The idea of a compromised scorecard is about as welcome at a golf club as a rogue squirrel making off with a golfer’s prized ball.

Even the actual golf pros are chiming in, marveling at the swing. For a man of his years, they say, the power he generates through impact is something to behold. While a swing coach might nitpick a few things in the backswing, the sheer velocity and transition from backswing to downswing are, apparently, undeniably impressive. It just goes to show, sometimes a score that seems a little too good to be true actually has some decent golf mechanics behind it. Or so the story goes.
