So, the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship wrapped up. Michael Stewart apparently played some golf, fired a 7-under 65, and snagged the trophy. Word is, he led from start to finish. Not a whole lot of edge-of-your-seat suspense, I guess. Just golf. In Scotland. Go figure.
Jack Buchanan also managed a 65, bless his heart. He was right there, breathing down Stewart’s neck. Casey Jarvis was lurking a single shot behind, and MJ Daffue and Hennie du Plessis were nipping at their heels. A crowded leaderboard, which always sounds promising until you realize most people will forget the details by Tuesday.
This is Stewart’s maiden DP World Tour title. He’s apparently been putting in the reps, and now he’s got his shiny new prize. So, mission accomplished. For the rest of us mere mortals, it’s just another kick in the shins, reminding us we should probably spend less time agonizing over our fantasy leagues and more time actually hitting the ball. Or maybe buying that driver. Nah, probably not the driver.
