So, apparently, golf needed another organization. This one’s all about peddling the overpriced merch. Because nothing screams "cutting-edge innovation" like figuring out how to offload more logoed polos and clubs that are guaranteed to do zilch for your handicap. Jennifer Morton’s in charge, apparently steering this particular ship since 2023. The marketing fluff says she’s got the industry “in her sights.” We’ll see if that means anything beyond a fancy title and a slightly more aggressive sales pitch.
Golf’s already got its usual suspects for every little niche. The PGA’s busy teaching us how to swing like toddlers. The USGA’s over there hyperventilating about the rules. And now, we’ve got the AGM for… well, selling more golf stuff. It’s a pretty important part of the game, I guess, if your idea of fun involves emptying your wallet. Morton claims she’s got “deep roots” in this particular business. Let’s just hope those roots involve more than just a knack for collecting membership fees. The big goal, naturally, is “growth.” Because golf always needs more growth, especially when it comes to the cash register.
Her path to this gig wasn’t exactly a straight drive down the fairway. More like a duck hook into the woods, if you ask me. Purely by chance. But here she is, leading the charge for the folks who actually crank out the gear you’ll inevitably blame for slicing into the neighbor’s prize-winning petunias. It’s a tough racket. Trying to convince people they really need another gadget that promises the moon. We’ll be watching this one. Mostly out of sheer, unadulterated curiosity, to be honest.
